Business / Corporate Law

We handle commercial transactions for smaller business entities in the areas of debt restructuring, corporate reorganizations, new business start-ups and business partnerships.
Divorce in Ontario may be granted where there has been a breakdown of the marriage. . Breakdown of the marriage occurs if the parties have lived separate and apart for at least one year; or if the party against whom the application is brought committed adultery or treated his/her spouse with cruelty.
Canadian Law treats marriage as an equal economic partnership between married couples.
Residential Real Estate
The purchase or sale of a new home is often a life altering decision for many families. It is a major investment and should be handled with the utmost care and by professionals who understand the legal issues attendant to conveying property.
Whether you are purchasing or selling your home, we will ensure that your transfer of property is legally binding. At A.Z. CLARKE we review your Agreement of Purchase and Sale, liaise with the other party’s lawyer, the bank, real estate agent in ensuring that all requisite matters surrounding your transaction is dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
Commercial Real Estate
We assist with contract drafting and negotiation during the purchase or sale of property for commercial use, attend to closing matters on both purchase and sale transactions including conducting title and off title searches, zoning and compliance matters, liaising with the relevant tax authority to ensure that all tax matters are clarified.
We also assist clients with construction, financing and leasing contracts, review zoning by-laws. We can also attend to tenant negotiations, leasing agreements, co-tenancy agreements, general partnership and limited partnership agreements.
Wills And Estates
Having a valid will is important in that it ensures that your property is distributed in accordance with your wishes. You get to decide who takes care of your children if they have not reached the age of maturity, you decide who your executors will be and you can ensure that your estate will be settled more easily, quickly and Cost effectively.
Having a lawyer prepare your WILL helps to ensure that your WILL is valid. Having a will also reduces the emotional and financial costs associated with dividing up your assets at death.
Every person with assets should have a will.
